Tschudi Logistics keeping busy

Currently, the Tschudi Logistics team is occupied on all sides of the business! Project cargo transports are, at the time of writing, being executed in Bilbao in Spain, Halmstad in Sweden, and Qingdao in China just to mention a few.

The rail team in Tallinn is busy as usual with shipments between Europe, the CIS-countries and China, while the beverage transports department is very busy with both planning and deliveries, as Christmas is around the corner.

World-wide deliveries
The Tschudi project team in Finland just shipped yet another batch of heavy boilers and accessories on behalf of one of their longstanding key clients. The shipment consisted of 12 pcs 53-ton heavy boilers and a separate shipment of open top containers along with flat rack containers. Totalling just shy of 3000 cbm and 690 tons. Both shipments are currently making their way towards Turkey, where cargo will be delivered by road to final destination at a local shipyard.

For the past years, Tschudi Logistics Finland have handled numerous shipments of boilers. From the Chinese Port of Qingdao alone, they are averaging a shipment per week pace. Generally, the shipments occur once a week from Port of Qingdao in China.

Practically all the shipments are Out Of Gauge shipments with special equipment. What is special for you, is normal for us! Shipments go practically all over the world for example to Finland, Germany, Italy, Suriname, Turkey, Pakistan and Bangladesh – just to mention a few!

Safe transport of boilers
While the Group handles all types of cargo, especially the transport of boilers has been quite frequent over the past couple of years. Logistics solutions for boilers demand for a special focus on lashing and securing during the transport, due to their often times fragile surface. The insulated body must be handled with utter care to protect the cargo. As most of the boilers are too large to fit in standard containers, they call for special containers. For the largest boilers, we often use heavy lift vessels due to insufficient crane capacity at container cargo oriented ports. These allow us to lift on and off even the heaviest of cargo with flexible routing.

For all of these shipments, vessel chartering is arranged by our highly qualified in-house chartering department in Aarhus, Denmark.
